Palm tree, up to 50’ tall, 20’ in diameter, generally smaller; trunk 12”- 18” in diameter, mature trees have dark gray trunks, smooth with leaf scars, immature trunks still have old leafbases; 2’ long petioles divided at their base; 10-25 silvery blue green fan fronds, up to 10’ across, with woolly wax on the underside, filaments between the segments.
