A casual open shrub that can be left to grow large, or contained to a smaller size by pruning. They work well as a stand alone shrub but can be planted in rows to create informal hedges or barriers. They can also be espaliered against (non-western) walls or trellises to create a vining appearance. Yellow berries are attractive, but poisonous.
