Pyrus calleryana

Bradford Pear

A wonderful accent tree with a formal, upright appearance. Similar to the kawakami flowering pear, except larger and more upright. Bright green, oval shaped leaves shimmer in the wind and will turn a dark, fiery red in the fall. Striking, profuse, snow white flowers appear in late winter early spring. Trunks are prone to sunburn on younger trees so protect with a wrap or paint. Frequent water during summer months.

  • Tear-drop shaped in youth and spreading out with age
  • Fall colors of reds, purples, and oranges
